Mission, Vision and Goals:

The mission of the Communication and Information
Technology Connectional (CIT) Department is to
assist the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in
using communication and information technology tools
and resources, and to connect, unite and share
information within and beyond the walls of our
church.

Purpose & Strategic Goals
-
Technology as a common thread for our CME Church
must be standardized to present a common brand to
CME members and those outside the CME Church. We
endeavor to:

(a)
Administer the official Web site of the Christian
Methodist Episcopal Church,
www.c-m-e.org,
and provide connectional Web site standards and best
practices.
-
(b)
Prepare the general
Website format for all connectional departments and
Episcopal Districts.

(c)
Establish standardized
email, social networking, and information technology
communications at the connectional level.
-
(d)
Make needed
information easily available to all members by
developing communication and public relation
strategies.
-
(e)
Recommend information
technology solutions that will enhance the delivery
of services, participation, and attendance for
connectional meetings and conferences.
-
(f)
Recommend information
technology solutions that will enhance the ability
of each department to deliver and amplify its
message to the CME Church and outside organizations.

(g)
Assist local,
district, and regional CME church entities to
enhance their IT services and delivery.

(h)
Identify technology
discounts for the connectional church and generate
revenue for the connectional church by developing a
CME Tech Shop.

(i)
Provide technology
classes and summits at the Annual CME Convocation
and other connectional events.

ministry for informing, engaging and inspiring our
connectional members.

About the Members of the CIT Connectional
Department
-
The CIT Connectional Department is formally
structured. A Presiding Prelate serves as Chair
and Vice Chair.
-
An Advisory Committee oversees CIT operations
and consists of members with certain expertise
and commitment.
-
A President is elected by the Advisory Committee
and serves as a Connectional Officer. The other
officers are vice president, secretary and
treasurer.
-
A Standing Committee on CIT is comprised of two
Episcopal Representatives from each Episcopal
District who are appointed by their respective
Presiding Prelate which shall meet at each
Connectional Board and General Conference to
receive and evaluate the report of the CIT
Connectional Department.

Representation at the local, District and Region
level is being planned.

Services Provided by the CIT Connectional
Department
-
Administration and maintenance of the official
CME Web site, and uniform e-mail address for all
connectional departments.

Development of Web sites for all connectional
departments and ministries, and providing
standards and best practices for all
connectional Web sites.
-
A central data repository for the connectional
church.
-
Effective communication strategies for the
connectional church, and public relations
consultation and assistance.
-
Use of intelligent and cost effective software,
and the development of new Web and software
applications to better serve the connectional
leaders, departments and members.
-
CME Tech Shop offering discounts on hardware,
software and technology equipment through
partnerships with major technology vendors.

Technology classes and workshops at the Annual
CME Convocation and other connectional events.
