Christian Methodist Episcopal Church Retirement Plan

Disability Insurance

Submitted by Plan Administration Management

Beginning in August 1998, Planned participants who become ill or unable to perform their duties will be paid 60% of their salary up to $250.00 per week.  Payment will be made for a maximum of 13 weeks after a 15-day waiting period.  A physician certification of the disability and the Presiding Bishop's certification that duties were not performed will be required.

This benefit is available to all participants regularly working at least 30 hours per week.

No benefit will be payable for a disability which is caused by, or contributed to by, a pre-existing condition which begins during the first twelve months of coverage.  A pre-existing condition is a sickness or injury for which a participant received medical care, diagnosis, treatment or consultation, or took prescribed drugs for during the three months before the effective date of coverage.
